Collegiate Shag classes in Vigo

Fast, bouncy 1930s swing, popular with American college students. Pure energy for couples.

Collegiate Shag took off in the 1930s among university students in the United States (hence collegiate). It's danced with a partner, in closed position, with a constant bounce and quick kicks, to the fastest swing music. It's fun, high-energy and a bit comical: impossible to dance without smiling.

It has a close cousin, St. Louis Shag, born in Saint Louis (Missouri) and related to the Charleston, which is also a hit on today's swing scene.
